National Day of the American Cowboy!!

This Saturday July 27, 2013 marks the 9th annual celebration of the American Cowboy. But as everyone knows we celebrate the cowboy every day and at every rodeo event in the United States.

As many know being a "cowboy" is a way of life not a part you play on a weekend. The cowboy lifestyle is making a living off the land and respecting it as well as others. The cowboy and cowgirl have deep roots in their religion and a deep faith in the land to provide for them and their livelihood.

You may not have to be a cowboy be definition and own a horse and cattle. But  if you still believe in the values that have made what is the American Cowboy then by all means you are a Cowboy!!

But please remember just because you wear a cowboy hat and cowboy boots on a Saturday night that does not make you a cowboy or even western. It just means you like to dress the part on a Saturday night to impress a lady or two.

Living in Texas and being from the Capital of famous cowboys. I have to say most of them don't wear the cowboy hat or even the wranglers. The image of the modern  American cowboy is changing from boots, buckles and cowboy hats. Heck now a days it is what is clean and looks good. But don't get those cowboys wrong when it comes to work or rodeo the uniform is always the same boots and jeans.

I hope everyone celebrates this day and continues the values of what a cowboy holds dear. I think if more people would hold those values we would have a lot less issues and maybe a smarter government (haha yeah right)

LONG LIVE THE COWBOY!!!!
