WOW what a year!!

They say that once you hit 30 you are now 'dirty thirty' and maybe its true maybe it isn't but all I know its been one HELL of a year!! So many memories and changes. I saw one of my oldest and dearest friends get married and now they are expecting a little peanut!!! I got to see my favorite couples have twin boys and watch the boys grow and be there to help them out. I was a bridesmaid in a kick ass wedding in the middle of no where in Texas!! Made memories to last a lifetime on the Riverwalk in San Antonio!!  I moved out of state to start an AMAZING job!! I got to make more memories with my dear friends at random events like baseball games, ag shows, crazy BBQ's,  rodeos, county fairs,  stock shows, random road trips and those crazy nights at the bar!! I have made some GREAT new friends along the way while staying in touch with those who are dearest to me!!

If my 30th year is the example of what my third decade of life will be like I can only imagine it to be something dreams are made of!!! I want to thank everyone for all the love, support, advice, adventures and good times! I can not wait to make more memories to last a lifetime. Cause I got to tell stories to my grand kids one day about the good ol' days!!!

San Antonio Whirlwind

Our view of the chutes!
What a crazy time going to San Antonio for fun to see the rodeo and stock with my friend Annie, to turning around 2 days later and coming down with 4-Hers to do the school tours. The rodeo was GREAT and we had awesome seats. But then again I don't think there is a bad seat in the place. We took 8 kids down with us to do the school tours and there was a total of 2,000 kids that showed up (don't worry there was a ton of other kids there as well)

The boys getting ready to wrestle.
The drive is super LONG but the kids and Tyler (our intern) helped it go by and when Annie and I went we played tourist on the way home and saw the Alamo in more detail and visited the capital. I have to say the capitol building in Austin is just as beautiful at night all lit up as it is in the daylight.

The stock show is great and a TON of animals were on display. A few of our 4-H kids had their animals there and they did decent. But the trippy thing for me is that the steer show is a slick shear show. NO HAIR!!! I'm so used to seeing the steers all fitted out to the T and here the steers are naked as a jay bird. But on the other hand you really can see what you have no, optical illusions about what the hair is hiding or not hiding.

Elsie all dressed up for the kids at the Stock Show School Tour Day!
All of the ag education barns at the stock were just as awesome!!! I could stay in those forever looking at all the fun facts and soaking in the education. The education barns had free samples of local produce, plants and of course dairy products. I think Elsie the cow is just as popular as the piglets in the barn across the road way. The San Antonio stock show reminds me more of a state fair than a jackpot show. But no matter what it is doing its job of showing off beautiful livestock and educating the public about agriculture.

This statue is on the side of the building as you walk around it

Another Oklahoma Adventure!!!

Aaron Watson live at the Wormy Dog Saloon
I love going and exploring new cities in new states. And I love how I live in a new place that allows me the ability to go on adventures and make a memory. This weekend was no different. I went up to Oklahoma City for a concert at the Wormy Dog Saloon!! It was a memorable concert that Aaron Watson put on in a tiny little saloon. The crowd was great and for some odd reason a couple thought it would be a good idea to get engaged during the concert at the bar. NO THANK YOU!!! So note to boys don't propose marriage to me at a bar!!! Before we even headed to the bar we made a random trip to Toby Keith's bar and grill for dinner and drinks and that was ok. We saw a mini concert there before we even saw the main show at Wormy Dog.
The best part of the weekend besides the concert was running all over town and playing tourist from the truck! We saw the capitol building, bricktown, the amazing murals through downtown and we braved the cold and got out to see the OKC bombing memorial. It was very peaceful and beautiful. I am so glad I braved the cold to experience the outdoor memorial sadly the indoor one was closed because it was a Sunday but that's ok I believe the outdoor speaks loudly for itself. And of course no trip to a new city is complete without a stop to a Bass Pro! So a stop was made and it was neat unlike other bass pro I've been to this had more of a Oklahoma feel with buffalo everywhere and a little Indian vibe to it as well. I'm a big fan of the shooting range at Bass Pro and this one didn't disappoint, among the targets was one where if you hit it a bull would start to buck. I also felt like a little kid all over again when I got to smash a penny into a shape representing bass Pro. I remember doing the pennies from all our random vacations as a kid. I wish I knew where I put all of those pennies from my past.
Painted Buffaloes where all over downtown OKC

I had a blast in OKC  and I can't wait to go back to OKC in the spring I feel I have so much more to see and do.

Not every day ..............

Its not every day or every job where you get to set up an incubator and hatch out eggs in your office. I have 21 eggs that are going (cross your fingers) to hatch in 21 days!! And then I will have peeping little chicks in my office. No I will not be taking them home cause I don't like grown up chickens and I live in an apartment and I don't think chickens living in bath tubs are a good idea. But I love the fact that I get to do this apart of my job. Through out the county there is also 9 different classrooms that also are going through the same process. My eggs are backups in case something goes wrong for those eggs. So let's cross our fingers for my eggs to hatch and find good homes, cause Lord knows I so won't be taking any home with me.
