More pictures from the road...........

A great look of the long road that was ahead of me and Gram as we traveled East to Texas.

A great view of the hills between Arizona and New Mexico they were a blur but they were pretty!!

Last Morning on the road in New Mexico! It was a beautiful chilly morning in Santa Rosa. But from our hotel you could see forever!

Our first stop in Texas to stretch our legs and for me to re-tie one of the straps. And we had to take a picture of the very Americana spot we stopped at. Nothing says it better than the Flags and the windmill. Which by the way we saw a lot of!!

ROAD TRIP!!!!

Well I made the road trip journey last week with my Gram from California to Texas!! We made great time we left Monday Oct. 17 mid morning and made it to Decatur, Texas around 4pm Wednesday Oct. 19. Thanks to my dad and his AWESOME packing skills nothing moved or got wet on the trip. We never saw rain on our trip just lots and lots of dry land.
Luck was on my side because I was able to keep everything on my truck until I moved in Friday afternoon to my new apartment in the big town of Runaway Bay, TX. The big town is population just over 1,000 people. But it is pretty and only 20 minutes from work.

Gram and I saw some fun things like Cline's Corner and of course we had to stop and check it out. Since it was gram's corner of the world you bet we took pictures. While at our stop Gram got some goodies that has Cline's Corner all over them. We of course collected postcards at every truck stop we could and have a collection going. It was nice that my Gram could go and keep my company otherwise it would have been a LONG and BORING drive out to Texas by myself.
Now begins the fun part of moving into a new apartment and meeting new people!!!

With that being said I have collected or sent postacrds from all my adventures and now I would love to have postcards from all of you. I would love to fill my new office up with your adventures from the road. If you would like to help me decorate my office with your postcards send me an email at: agademics@gmail.com  and I will send you my address. And I can't thank you enough in advance for sending the postcards. And I promise I will keep trying to send postcards out as I find cool ones from my adventures all over Texas!

What a first week and its only thursday

So I LOVE my new job, I have so many things to learn, people to meet and names to remember. Its thrilling and I'm only on day number 4 for work. Its been alot of late nights thanks to it being National 4-H week, but its kept me on my toes as well. I can't wait to really get into the swings of things. As much as I miss my friends, family and my very own bed I am really lucky to have this opportunity to work with the extension office.

I can't wait to move into my own place and start to really feel like a Texan. Sadly I already have the accent coming on strong which isn't such a bad thing. I have noticed that some things and outfits that would fly in California for business attire by no means works here. Oh darn a reason to go shopping.

I love my new adoptive family of Ben, Chrissy & Kaitlyn. They make me feel like I am home and I need that. I love them!!! And I can't thank them enough for letting me crash on the couch until I find a place. Which I think I may have. (cross your fingers) So then I can really sleep on a nice bed once I get one or bring mine out. But I think I may be more excited cause its a new place to decorate and we all know I love to decorate.

Well I can't wait for week two to start on Monday but at the same time I can cause I need to catch up on sleep.

San Antonio, WOW

WOW is all how I can sum up the adventures I had in San Antonio. From the minute I landed to know I wait to start my adventure in driving to Bridgeport with the newlyweds. It has been one hell of a good time. I am so happy I could be here to spend time and be apart of Ben & Chrissy's big day. We celebrated Chrissy's bachelorette days down at the river walk and the best bar  EVER :  Howl at the Moon. I think that bar will have memories for many of the wedding guests. I would like to thank the Kubota company for having their convention there this week I do believe they sponsored most of our drinks with the money you pay reps! THANK YOU!!!

And how could we forget the wedding its self: BEAUTIFUL, outdoor ceremony just outside San Antonio and the weather was our friend that day. Everyone had a great time and looked amazing!!!

And of course I saw the ALAMO!!! I know not very exciting  to  most but I was super excited cause I'm a nerd and want to do all the tourist things I can do here in Texas.  Yes I even wore my bridesmaid outfit to the Alamo cause I wanted to sport the AWESOME dress and to show off how pretty I looked that night. It's a beautiful building smack in the middle of the downtown building and river walk. Sadly I got there too late to take a tour but I toured the outside of the Alamo and can officially check it off my list of things to do in Texas. I guess one day I really need to create a check off list for Texas I'm  sure its gonna be  a never ending list.
