You never know about boys.

Sometimes I am surprised by the Boy still. And that is a good thing cause just when I think I have him figured out he goes and surprises me. Last night we were watching my show on TV (the voice) and out of the blue he shows me is phone and it pictures of men's wedding bands. He showed me what he liked. I find it surprising cause we always talk about marriage in the future and it is usually about what I want and such. But after we both took a grilling about it at the family BBQ on when and where are we getting married, I didn't even think to talk about it more that night.

Don't get me wrong we still didn't pick out a date or colors or even a location. He just happened to show me the ring he likes and would wear and in turn I happened to find one I liked too. He knows my ring size and I know his. It's just a matter of the boy going shopping to pick out the ring and asking. He already knows my answer and he knows no matter what I am not running away. He is stuck with me. Poor kid.

If he can pull something like this out and surprise me who knows what else he can surprise me on. At least he keeps me on my toes.

Tornado Alley

They weren't fooling when they said that Texas and Oklahoma are in Tornado Alley. Sadly in the last week we have had 2 major tornado storms that have done lots of damage. Last week alone the tornado storm produced 16 tornadoes that touched down in the state of Texas. One the most damage was in Granbury, Texas and it did the most damage in Texas and that is only 2 hours away if that. And sadly last night there was another tornado that came through in Oklahoma and took out most of a whole town. That is about 3.5 hours away from me.

It does make me wish I didn't live in an apartment and a house with a storm shelter. Or live in a house with bubble wrap all around it so nothing bad can happen. But at least I can say with technology the warning are getting better. My phone was going off warning about tornado watch to a serve thunderstorm. I'm OK with a serve thunderstorm I am not OK with tornado watch. The weather channel has been my friend for the last week and I can't believe how much I have learned about tornadoes. However this California kid will still take a Earthquake over a tornado any day. You don't know when earthquakes are coming and they only last for about 1 minute if that some times. And most of the time you sleep through earthquakes. And the really big ones do damage yes, but at least in CA we have built our building to withstand the shaking and rolling a earthquake can do. It is hard to build a house that can withstand 200mph winds and debris being chucked at that speed.

I pray for all those affected by the recent Tornados and I hope those are safe and warm has a rain/hail storm is moving in this way today to the areas affected. I pray that all those that are working to find survivors are safe and those who did not make it went peacefully and without pain. In times like this you see the true human spirit in taking care of fellow man.

May is Beef Month!!!!

I am so excited that it's beef month!! Fire up the GRILL!!! It's a great month to eat tasty food and support our cattle ranchers! There is so many ways you can make beef into tasty tasty meals. No matter what you are in the mood for there is a way to incorporate beef into the meal.
I have to say I have been apart of local and national Cattlewomen's Association and I am very proud of the organizations and to be apart of them. They promote not only a great industry but great people who raise  beef cattle. I am so proud of all the opportunities that the Beef Cattle industry has offered to kids, students and us adults for continuing education.
